Bringing Healing To Africa's Traumatized Youth.

According to a recent study, 67% of people in Northern Uganda suffer from depression and 54% suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

These figures are based on a joint study done by UK and Ugandan psychiatrists in 2006.

Invest In Children Africa is a non-profit organization focused on meeting the needs of the war-torn and traumatized youth of Africa.

We are dedicated to offering solutions to the problems threatening African adolescent's mental and emotional well being by developing programs that bring rehabilitation and healing.

Globally, teens can find it difficult to verbalize their thoughts and emotions, especially as it relates to traumatic experiences affecting their lives. We have found that using music and the arts can reach into areas that words alone cannot touch. This gives youth a voice when words are not enough.

For that reason, we design and host camps that utilize trauma-based curriculum along with music and the arts to help adolescents work through the damaging and traumatic events experienced in their lives. We have found this brings healing by equipping them with coping tools and resiliency skills.

With this in mind, we work hard to establish long-term community relationships. This provides mentoring opportunities where trust, respect and love are fostered and grown.

Our current programs are being developed and implemented in Gulu, Uganda and Nairobi, Kenya with the prospects of expanding into Rwanda and Ethiopia in the near future.

With the hope of doing more as we continue to grow and train others to implement these successful programs, we invite you to be a part of our efforts to help bring healing and restoration to these amazing children... the future of our world.
